22 Oct Joint industry letter on cybersecurity
Whereas negotiations are ongoing between the European Parliament and the Council, EGMF co-signed a joint industry letter calling decision makers to set up an EU cybersecurity certification framework boosting the EU’s competitiveness.
This future framework should be flexible and future-proof to better compete in fast-changing market rather than prevent innovation due to a rigid approach.
Therefore, EGMF and the co-signatories request to involve the industry in future certification schemes, advocate a non-mandatory framework and support a greater use of self-assessment, including for the declaration of conformity. In addition, the industry stresses the need of interoperability with existing international agreements, regulations and standards in the development of future schemes.
