The NRMM industries join forces to help shape the future of the Waste Database

Concerned over the evolution of the development of the ECHA database to be established under the amendment to the Waste Framework Directive 2018/851 by end of 2019, EGMF and 6 other industry associations representing the non-road mobile machinery industries joined forces and sent a joint letter to the European Commission. Within this letter we request the European Commission to:

  • Limit information requirements in line with the legal framework
  • Carry out an impact assessment to avoid disproportionate requirements
  • That the database handles the submitted information respecting European property rights, data privacy and commercial secrets
  • That the database ensures a level playing field with imported articles in order to protect European industries’ competitiveness
